If you are planning to visit the Cardiff Christmas Market, we have put together this page to help make your visit as enjoyable as possible. There are lots of great reasons to pick Cardiff as your shopping destination or even as a weekend festive getaway. Here are a couple of helpful tips for you to bear in mind when shopping in Cardiff and at the Cardiff Christmas Market.

Shopping in Cardiff…

has the added benefit of being very central. The vast majority of amazing shops, quaint Edwardian and Victorian arcades, restaurants and attractions are within a 5 minute walk of the Cardiff Christmas Market. You can also take in the beauty of Bute Park, Cardiff Castle and many other sights all just a stroll away from the market.

When best to visit…

at any time as our stalls are sited in the heart of Cardiff’s pedestrian shopping area.  There is no entrance fee to pay and because of our stall locations there is plenty of room to browse and shop even at peak shopping times. Our trading hours are 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. We are also open until 7pm on Thursday 14, Friday 15, Saturday 16, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 December.

don’t worry, there is hot mulled wine to warm you up and spread the festive cheer as you shop.

You can get mobile…

in Cardiff with the free City Centre Mobility Service. This service is able to carry disabled  and elderly passengers around the pedestrianised zones in the City Centre; contact 029 2087 3888. There is plenty going on…

during Christmas in Cardiff. Alongside the Cardiff Christmas Market, and as part of Cardiff’s Step Into Christmas city wide celebrations, the festival season officially arrives in the capital on Thursday 9 November where the streets will  be transformed with a cornucopia of Christmassy characters, music, lights and entertainment.  Further information on this event will be published here closer to the start of the Christmas Market.  There is  Winter Wonderland with its own ice rink, now undercover so you don’t have to worry about the weather! Santa’s Grotto will be in the spectacular setting of Cardiff Castle once again this year. There are also lots of great shows in the various theatres across the city. Cardiff even has its own New Year’s celebrations.
