Craft*Folk was established in 1994 by Howard Potter and continues to support genuine artists and crafts people who are looking to promote and sell their work. We actively encourage “in action” demonstrations to show off these skills. In today’s economic uncertainty it is more important then ever to keep our talented makers to the forefront of retailing.

Individual food and drink producers are also welcome to add to the vibrant atmosphere of our outdoor contemporary free Fairs and Festivals where a real passion for tradition sometimes comes with a modern twist!

This well established Christmas Market sited in the heart of Cardiff City Centre has been organised and successfully run by us for 30 years. It is a unique visitor attraction and offers an alternative shopping experience as you are buying original work directly from the makers themselves. Each year we have 70 stalls showcasing an extensive rolling programme of over 200 individual businesses selling a wide variety of diverse arts and crafts, interspersed with seasonal food and drink. This is because not all our makers can sustain staying with us for the full event but opt for a shorter trading time instead. A full list of  all exhibitors can be found on our Market page, together with their individual trading dates.

With the wealth of knowledge gleaned from organising and participating in events for many years we are also happy to advise any new artists and crafts people wishing to exhibit with us for the first time as having the courage to sell your work to customers, other than friends and family, can be very daunting and additional encouragement is sometimes needed.

A Power Point Presentation is also available on request offering various tips and advice on taking part at the Christmas Market.

For information on our Taster Stalls, designed to offer new exhibitors the opportunity to test trade at our City Centre events, please go to our Take Part page for further details on how to apply.
